ST Kilda has locked away prized early draft pick Max King.

The fourth selection at last year’s National Draft has penned a two-year deal that will see him feature in the red, black and white until at least the end of 2022.

“I’m really excited to re-sign with the Saints,” said King.

“I’ve been embraced by the whole club since being drafted. I can’t wait to get to full fitness to repay the faith shown in me.”

“I hope this is just the start of a long career here.”

A highly-rated 204cm forward, King remains in the cub’s rehabilitation group as he recovers from an ACL injury sustained last April.

He is not expected to make his AFL debut until midway through the upcoming season.

“As desperate as Max is to get out on to the field, we will continue to be patient with his rehabilitation, as we see him being a key pillar in the long-term future of our club,” Saints list manager James Gallagher said.

King’s signature comes just a day after livewire Ben Long inked a new deal that will also tie him to Moorabbin until 2022.
