RICHMOND will unveil a new-look forward line for its season opener against Carlton, with boom recruit Tom Lynch to be joined by Mav Weller and debutant Noah Balta at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday night.

A 194cm beast, Balta was the 25th pick in the 2017 National Draft and has been rewarded for his promising form in the JLT Community Series.

Former Sun and Saint Weller arrived at Punt Road via the new pre-season supplemental rule after he was delisted by St Kilda.

Brandon Ellis is one of five premiership Tigers not named (he is on the emergency list, with Josh Caddy, Shaun Grigg, Jason Castagna and Jacob Townsend also missing out.

The Blues, meanwhile, will have six fresh faces in their line-up, with number one draft pick Sam Walsh and mature-age recruit Michael Gibbons to be joined by recruits Mitch McGovern, Will Setterfield, Nic Newman and Alex Fasolo.

Carlton will have to end a run of seven straight losses against Richmond without Matthew Kreuzer, with the star big man to miss the clash as he recovers from knee surgery, with Andrew Phillips to take on the ruck duties.
